Chess at ICC, play & learn App Reviews

The random disconnects from a game when on a strong wifi signal are bizarre. But whats worse is the lack of functioning indicators that you have been disconnected. Dont get me wrong, there are actually 2 indicators (one under your username in game and one in the left slide out menu), but Id appreciate if even 1 actually correctly reflected my connection status. Glad I found this out during my free trial instead of paying a subscription.

Love the app. However work on multitasking feature where I can enter the time pools and still navigate through the app. Also examining modes and direct chats

This version of ICC Chess is lacking many features. Along with the other complaints, I cant use the trainer to play out different endgames. It defaults to "mate in x". Not a minor gripe either. This app is the only option for Apple users to play ICC with multitouch. There is no Mac Surface Pro to run a full version OS. Please update the app!

Although I reported this problem today, to ICC... Nevertheless, I decided to submit this review, in the event that others are having the same issue! Specifically, I was trying to load a Boris Alterman vid... And it simply wouldnt load after over seven minutes of the indicator just spinning around in a circle... This was the first time I tried to load a video, as I dont use the app very much, and my primary usage would be when Im traveling... therefore, I rated it only two stars; I dont play on ICC at all; my other main usage of this app would be to watch major GM tournaments live on ICC... Hopefully theres no technical issues with that!

This would be a great chess app if it weren’t so unstable. In the past 3 days I have gotten deep into some games and my opponent’s clock would be ticking for well over 10 minutes, then his clock would just stop, and we’re stranded in the middle of the game. Then on top of that, I check the game result and my opponent has won. This has been murder on my rating. Please fix this app. Please update this app, because I spent the $50 for the membership. I kept giving you a shot, but now I’m just totally disappointed in your app. I was looking forward to raising my rating by playing chess on the iPad. I guess this is only meant for the computer.

Simple way to play on the go. Never had a crash on me.

I would like to have some bughouse or crazy house on here. I really cant take chess serious on my phone. it will be nice to have some wild games available. Other than that its good.

Please make the pools easier to find. Also make an examine mode so we can actually move the pieces. Otherwise the app works well and ICC is a great place to play.

For the amount of the subscription, the App quality is horrendous. I will be moving to Lichess after this subscription expires.

I use this to watch chess videos at lunch. The app crashes a lot and never remembers my spot. It often signs me out for no reason. Its almost unusable.

And best place to play chess online in general

If you use this on an iPad you cant use a Bluetooth connected keyboard for chat. Also no way to see any news or upcoming tournaments

For online chess I think that this is the place to be. The price is right, the resources are vast, the competition is excellent.

Sad to say, but this app does not compare to the one offered by Chess.com. If you doubt compare!
